Just wanted to post up a reminder that the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad will be heading to Tacoma on Friday, August 26, 2011. We will be using the Polson Logging #70 for this trip and will be a guest at the Tacoma Rail open house, Saturday, August 27th. The Tacoma Rail open house will be from 10am to 2pm and will feature free train rides around the Port of Tacoma in the tideflats. The event is part of the Maritime festival happening during the weekend. http://www.mytpu.org/tacomarail/news.aspx?news_id=226

We will be returning to Elbe (or Mineral) on Saturday afternoon or early evening after the event. The consist will be a short 2 car train (tank car and a caboose)

The Rayonier #2 Willamette steam engine will be on our excursion trains on Friday and Saturday.

I'll post the departure time from Mineral when it is more of a firm time but tentatively it is looking at the early/late afternoon hours.
