The fires are east of I-25 and aren't actually affecting the Raton Pass line itself (yet); however, the amount of smoke in the area has reduced visibility greatly and made travel through the canyon a bad idea, plus one of those fires is very close to I-25 itself and the vegetation up there is bone-dry thanks to the drought. T'aint gonna get better very soon, that's for sure.
