Thursday I went north and then west again to get the MAW pics and then to see if I could catch the NS local doing a shove with the caboose. The first train I encountered was a manifest heading west on the Fostoria district. Well it was on the passing track at 127 waiting for a very short intermodal to pass going east which I did not make it in time to video. I set up in Latty for my shot.

I drove through Cecil to see if the MAW/ CNUR was running but not today.
After heading west out of Woodburn I thought I saw a train wayyy down the tracks. When I got closer to New Haven I was pleased to see the caboose acking towards me. Got there earlier today so caught the shove.

Is it common for NS to write on the cab?

I filmed this for about an hour freezing in the wind, looks a lot warmer on video. 4 trains passed eastbound on the Fostoria district while I was up here. One was a road railer but with the haze and distance between the tracks I could not see what the others were. I also could see what I thought was a local waiting on a siding. Actually was the Loram railgrinder. I've only seen one once before and that was at night though it is awesome to see running at night.

Next I went into New Haven to see what was happening at the terminal. Saw some UP power waiting and a GP59 working on the west end.

There was a grain train and an EMD powered scrap gon/ coil train waiting to head north (I forgot the name :? ) but they had to wait cause 2 trains were coming south. First was a intermodal with NS and UP power. Second was a dash-9 led manifest/ autorack.

While driving around the terminal trying to figure out which north bound would leave first the EMDs got away from me and with traffic in that area there was no getting ahead again. Still go the grain train though!

I was down to half an hour left so I finally went by the CF&E to see if the FWLI was ready to leave but I am pretty sure they did not run one Thurs. Never saw it when I was back home. Out of time and on my way out of town I caught these. Would have been an amazing 2 train meet! If they weren't almost at the gates I still would have videoed. The GP50 was creeping along and the GEs were doing track speed.

ok let me see, the rail grinder was by the lafrance stone pit just to the east side of the woodburn turn off, and the mid states i believe is what the call it now. I use to take the corn there from the farm in Auburn. lol

I have a mission for you sometime, get a pic of the NS passing the wayne pump building. nice curves right there in that area. I want to buy that building someday.

Anthony and Washington are the major cross streets. Go to blocks north of that intersection. Glasgow Ave and Washington. Glasgow north of washington is where the tracks cross. That is the pictures i am looking for and can't find to put in the link i started for all time favorite photo. there are a few curves there good for catching shots. thats where me and my dad use to go when i was a kid.

Now that I've had time to look it up on the map I see where you are talking about. I am not sure which is the pump building but I have filmed where the NS tracks cross Glasgow.

ok now this is the other building on the south/ east side of glasgow. Notice the old crossing in front of my summer train chasing mobile, that crossed Washington and went to the FalStaff Beer plant. My great Grandpa work at the beer plant for many years.
