Railfanning the BNSF Transcon NW OK 5/17/2012

Railroadforums.com is a free online Railroad Discussion Forum and Railroad Photo Gallery for railroaders, railfans, model railroaders and anyone else who is interested in railroads. We cover a wide variety of topics, including freight trains, passenger and commuter railroads, rail news and information, tourist railroads, railway museums and railroad history.

It's been a long time coming, but back in May I finally upgraded to a new HD Canon VIXIA HFR21 camcorder with an Azden SMX-10 stereo microphone to take my train videos to the next level. To break in the new equipment, I took a trip with a railfan buddy up to northwest Oklahoma to capture BNSF action on the Panhandle Sub, set in the scenic buttes and grades of the Cimarron River Valley. It turned out to be a great day, with a total of eight trains and some nice shots (if I do say so myself). On the whole, I'm very pleased with the new recording equipment, and look forward to hopefully putting it to many years of good use. Runtime of 27 minutes, enjoy :)

Outstanding In My Field
Looks like a great place. The red soil really makes it interesting. I bet you could get bit by a snake around there.
