Rail-Related Stamp in July: Owney the Postal Dog

The U.S. will issue a stamp July 27th featuring Owney the dog, the mascot of the Railway Mail Service. Between 1888 and 1897, Owney traveled all over the country, and even outside it, on Railway Post Office cars... often alone. When he died, he was stuffed, and is now on display at the National Postal Museum.
