great locomotive sound at the video of this old ALco RSD-16 pulling a freight train departing from Cabred station, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Although the locomotive is very beat up on the outside, the diesel engine and operating systems appear to be very well maintained. There is very little of the typical ALCo smoke cloud as the engine is slowly pulling away with what looks like a fairly heavy train.

I love these old ALCo's, which were retired from mainline service in North America several decades ago. I hope you will make more videos of the ones remaining in Argentina.

I watched the video again and counted cars. The engine was pulling 39 cars, many of which were loaded. What are the cars immediately behind the engine? They look like box cars, but they have have vents or fans on each end.

I wish they would repaint the locomotive. I think it has earned a new paint job.
