MP 72 - BNSF Spokane Sub.
Does anyone know why a westbound "Amtrak" would have to go to from the BNSF side of the Columbia Gorge to the Oregon side at Wishram?? They would use OT Jct. get onto the UP Portland Sub???

Sounds like Amtrak 28 is stuck in a mud slide/flooded track between Roosevelt and Patterson, WA. Hwy 14 is closed due to a washout.

just saw a Z go north past king st station in seattle...and it is now going into AApple track in Interbay to be tied down. pretty sure that is the Z-PTLCHC that has been rerouted...since there is no Z out of south seattle on sunday mornings.
the V-TACLPC is also coming through seattle, usually it goes around the horn...

Ballard Beaver, I believe that would have been saturday's night Z out of Portland.. Like Seattle, I don't think that Portland originated a Z sunday morning..

Gus Melonas, a Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad spokesman in Seattle, said 200 feet of rails were buried in debris. The rain also washed out two, 100-foot sections of track bed under the rails. About 30 workers are at the scene, and Melonas said he expects freight traffic to resume sometime this evening and Amtrak traffic to resume Monday night. Burlington Northern’s Columbia River Gorge Route sees 35 trains a day, Melonas said. During the clearing work, those trains will be detoured to other Pacific Northwest routes, including Stampede Pass, which travels through Yakima.

I believed it all until Gus said they'd be running additional trains over Stampede....

There was a west bound that followed the Yakima local last night about 2300.

The Westbound over Stampede was the PASVBT.
I chased the Z-CHCPTL8-12A from Pasco to Port Kelley, WA, along the UP Ayer Sub.
BNSF took the train to Villard Jct, where they handed it over to the UP crews.
It was very odd seeing a BNSF Z-train on the Washy.
Are You A Defective Fomar
Looked like the BNSF was still working on the track today (at least what I could see from the Oregon side.)
Are You A Defective Fomar
Noted trains in almost every siding from Stevenson east waiting for the eastbound Empire Builder last night. So I guess it's safe to assume the line is open again.
