I have invented and have a provisional patent application on a new system to warn railroad right of way pedestrians/trespassers of an oncoming train. It is a significant improvement over all other systems.

I know that 1) Congress passed the 2008 Railroad Safety Act to reduce fatalities and 2) that these deaths cost railroad operators legal costs (despite that the pedestrians are considered 'trespassers').

If I can demonstrate/prove that the system will work and save quite a few lives, do you think the Federal Railroad Administration and/or railroad operators would be willing to actually invest in the system?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Just hazarding a guess, but I would say one of the biggest factors above everything else would be cost. If it could be shown to reduce costs involving lawsuits verses the cost of your system, I would say that you would have a potentially viable product. How you would go about getting favorable attention from the railroads is beyond me. Good luck!
