Parts of the Posse went west this week to the Narrow Gauge. Here are a few from a 3 day trip. We went primarily to find some spots to record the sound of steam away from the highway. I hiked to a point just to the west of Windy Point. No easy task for an old geezer at 10,000 feet. Other locations were at Tanglefoot Curve and Sublette, NM. Great sound even with the wind rushing through the lonesome pines. I'll post some on Soundcloud sometime. And we got to see diesel #19 and a great restoration of the 168.

I saw the Rio Grande box car with a trailer next to it and thought it would make a great model railroad residence. And a cowboy on a cell phone. I know this is technically a western railroad but I might extend the posse's range this one time. If you haven't been there you need to go at least once. Hopefully brother Rick got a picture of me standing on the high perch above the valley.

Windy Point, near Cumbres Pass Colorado. The first picture is of windy point from the Hwy 17 crossing below.
The second picture is a "where's waldo" shot of Tom. The grassy part he is standing on is just to the left of the first pic. you can see a bit of the grassy part.
I now wish I had a shot from way back to show exactly how high(altitude wise) the old geezer was. I am unable to comment on his psychological condition.

Sorry about the late reply, I am catching up on some old threads. Cumbres & Toltec is such a great railroad, I cant wait to get back down there.

Welcome back, haven't seen you around much lately. Hope to see more of your photos.

Thanks! We have two small children now that takes up a lot of my time! The older one is getting old enough to go out train watching with me now.
