RJ Corman recently fired up their Chinese-built 2-10-2 QJ steam locomotive for a run out on the Old Road.
Preparations for the trip began on Thursday 7/25/13 with a run out the Belt Line in Lexington, KY to turn the locomotive on the wye near Louden Avenue.
1) RJC #2008 heads out of Rupp Yard and onto the Belt Line with the Lexington skyline in the background.
2) Crossing North Broadway, there's no doubt about the railroad involved.
3) Rolling through the residential area at Shropshire Ave in Lexington.
4) After turning on the wye, the engine passes Blue Grass Grain on its way back to the yard for the night.

Friday July 26th and RJC #2008 ran west (railroad north) to the wye at Christiansburg...just west of Bagdad, KY...where the engine was turned and made the return trip to Lexington after a water stop in Bagdad.
1) Old Smokey rolls over Old Smokey as the short train heads onto the Kentucky River bridge in historic downtown Frankfort. The bridge approach has a mural featuring the likeness of Old Smokey, creating this unusual double-image.
2) It's the return run and #2008 is at West Frankfort after a brief stop to clean the ash pan.
3) Clear of Frankfort and the climb up Jett Hill and now Smokey is storming through the 'tunnel of trees' at Duckers.
4) Drifting into historic Midway, KY the train will stop one last time to dump the ashes before making its way back to the yard in Lexington.
Thanks for all the comments...April & Ed--yeah, there's NO DOUBT who owns the railroad or the rolling stock when railfanning a Corman line. Dunno if RJC is a Sammy Hagar fan, but "the spectrum made a shade (he) like(s)..."
