Steam Chaser
Last weekend I got to do some railfanning in Missouri's capital: Jefferson City. I tried for the famous Capitol building shot, but I mostly got clouds. The sun popped out briefly for one shot though. The UP grain train had a fire-shooting Gevo, but unfortunately it didn't shoot fire for the camera (trust me though, it did shoot some fire!).

Yesterday, I went out with hopes of catching UP 1982 leading MASAS, basically a local from East St. Louis to Chester and back. The second unit was an ex-BN SD40-2, always good to see. I almost missed this train due to traffic, but luckily MASAS ran a little late. Because of that, I almost ran out of light. Also, the second train shown, a UP coal, almost blocked my view! Amazingly, out of all of the times I've seen 1982 (this was the 6th I think), this is the first time I've gotten it leading!

Today, I wanted to catch another special unit, NS 1066 (NYC). It came in really early on stack train 20T, which was long gone by the time I got up. A buddy of mine told me that it had been taken off and was sitting in Luther Yard, barely visible. I decided to go anyway, although I didn't actually get a good shot of it. First off was a UP yard move, YSL53. At Madison, there was an IC SD70 waiting for an assignment(no pics). Finally, I got a record shot of the 1066 just to prove I've seen it. It's still in the area, and everyone's patiently waiting for news on it!
