NS #8114 in Puget Sound area

Sunday (3/2) I spotted NS #8114, a heritage unit painted for the original Norfolk Southern Railway Company, on the rear DPU set of a northbound (tt/east) empty oil tank train rolling through Edmonds, WA on the BNSF Scenic Sub.

nice catch...this train has been through town a few times, usually on oil trains it seems

how could you tell it was empty? wondering if it wasnt a load headed to arco or fidalgo?

The springs of the trucks were not compressed and the tank cars had a hollow sound as they rolled by. This led me to believe it is that train from Saskatchewan which comes west via the Fallbridge Sub, unloads on the Columbia River, then returns empty via the Scenic Sub or British Columbia. If any one knows for certain, please speak up.

I think it was an U-BERAWA headed from ND to Arco, WA. I know it was loaded headed north out of Vancouver, WA

If that was a loaded tank train, it sure looked and sounded odd. The truck springs were not compressed and the tank cars sounded hollow as the train rolled past.
