I discovered this site a couple of weeks ago while looking up something else (that happens a lot around here), and just registered.

It just dawned on me that this is my thirtieth year as a railfan. Actually, I guess I've always had that weird gene that makes someone enjoy chasing trains, but I got the "bug" for model railroading and everything sometime in 1983.

Nowadays, I work part-time for a short line here in Maine. I was a presenter for Maine Operation Lifesaver for awhile, but haven't done anything with OL for maybe a couple of years. I'll probably always be somewhat obsessive about keeping thieves, vandals, and "ordinary" trespassers off the right-of-way.
It's been too long since I did anything with the model (HO scale) stuff, too, but I'm hoping to be able to get back to it some day.

Much snow out your way? We had rain this weekend, but the Maine Eastern ran their wedge plow last week. It was two storms' worth of "light, fluffy" stuff, but I saw the M-o-W guys out and about, cleaning switches with a backpack blower, coal shovels, and the ever-popular switch brooms. (Not my idea of a good time. )

Nope, still wearing short slevees and shorts to work in the yard today raking leaves, it was a damp 75 degrees.
