Howdy!
I am John (Edge), a Brit who lives in Greece.
I’m a big fan of all railroads, real and model. I’ve travelled a bit, mainly around Europe and some of Africa but I did get to the USA once, back in 1995. I got to visit Chicago for a two day stopover then flew to LA and spent nearly three weeks around California and Nevada, I got to Tehachapi for one day and also visited the RR museum in Sacramento but I certainly didn’t get “enough“ trains in. Maybe in the future?
I model trains in H0 from around the world but I haven’t got a layout at the moment, mainly due to also not having a house! We’re renting an apartment until our house is built.
Here is just one reason why I (& my wife) love Greece - an Alco locomotive on the metre gauge Peloponnese network in 2010.
Sadly, the metre gauge network has been closed since the local financial crisis hit hard but there are still relics from a previous age lying around. I believe this is a metre gauge “MacArthur” US built Mikado slowly rusting away at a nearby town called Milli.
Cheers,
John
