New guy with some questions

Greetings all,
I am new to your forum here. I am actually in the aviation field but trains is one of my hobbies (not just toy trains). I love learning about them. Everything from regulatory to operation.

Believe it or not the aviation industry (airlines) and the rail industry have a significant amount in common. I would love to learn more about how the two are the same.

Im from United States but more specifically from Colorado.

They are probably very similar in hours, calls and hours of service. I have stayed in some hotels that also catered to airline pilots, that night desk guy could never sleep.

Yes the hours can be similar, but I have found there to be many more similarities. Railroads have: Schedulers, dispatchers, Maintenance, Crews, and a whole lot of regs to comply with.

Even airlines have done mergers, just like the railroads.
