I am looking for information about a group of railroad executives in New York City in the 1920s who called themselves the Knocker's Table. I have a letter dated 4 May 1922 from President Harding to Mr. Archie Irvin discussing a visit to Washington by the "crew of the Knocker's Table" for luncheon and an afternoon of golf.
I am wondering if this was an informal name and if it was some sort of railroad slang.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
