Steam Chaser
Here are some shots from the last few weeks.
First up is a short trip to the Hannibal Sub north of St. Louis. The sun was high, but I still got a few shots, including one I've wanted for a while.

Last Saturday, I went out early to catch the elusive patched SSW GP60 on the Pacific local. After 6 failures, I finally got the shot I was looking for. I went for a chase, but it never showed up. UP trace said that the pair returned to Leperance Street Yard.

On Friday, I went out early to catch the Katy heritage unit leading KOAMN. I was going to Memphis that evening, but luckily I had some free time in the morning. I first decided to catch the train in Pacific. A few miles from my first spot, I traced the 1988 and found out it passed through Gray Summit (a few miles west) 10 minutes before. I knew I had missed the train, but I hoped to at least get him in Dupo. Unfortunately, I ran into road construction, which slowed me down. We arrived in Dupo 10 minutes before he arrived, and put on a little chase. He was stopping for a setout, inspection, and crew change, so we had no trouble catching him a lot. After 3 other trains came and went, he left on his journey southbound.
