Steam Chaser
On Memorial Day weekend, we took a trip to Kansas City for a productive railfanning weekend. As always, KC didn't disappoint, and I saw tons of action on the KCT trackage near Union Station. Though I didn't get away from KCUS much, I still had tons of fun shooting from the Freight House Bridge. A couple of the shots are from our hotel room at the Westin, which overlooks KCUS, the tracks, and downtown KC.
The best catches were the ICE/DME combo, the KCS train, and the Schnider Flyer with the ex-SD45-2 in the lead. Beyond these, however, everything was pretty standard. The shear quantity is what make this stretch of track so impressive.
I didn't spend a lot of time on the editing since I had so many photos to go through. Also, not all of the trains I shot are posted since I would have eaten up a lot of my space on Flickr!

And finally, a goodbye to an old friend, Marc 66. I took a drive to find Marc 66 (now SLRG 520) at Mid America Car, and there it was, in a terrible spot for photos. Still, I couldn't resist one last shot of it. Ed Ellis and Iowa Pacific is restoring it, so at least I know it is in good hands.
