I grew up in Ohio. Our farm was next to the tracks, by a grain mill. I always loved trains. I have an interview for a track laborer position here locally. I want this pretty bad. I have a Bachelors degree in Business Management, and 1/2 way through associates for Logistics Management. I want a career, and I want to work my way up. I did 8 years in the Army on tanks, and I am used to heavy work, though I am also experienced in program management managing Defense test programs. I want as much information as I can get. Post listed pay at 18.65 an hour. I just want in, and I want to begin a career here and never work as a defense contractor again, when defense budgets are cut, you are just gone like you mean nothing. That just sucks when you are married with kids. Any help or info would be apreciated. Thanks.
Don't tell them you like trains.
21 years of trackwork here.
All you need is a strong back and a weak mind! LOL!!
Good luck and I hope you land the job. Best thing for you would be to get on a local gang.
local
Yes, this is for a local gang. A recruiter called me about being a transportation manager, but I made it to 3rd interview 1.5 years ago for that and was not selected. I have to wait 2 years to re-apply. The recruiter is also the one interviewing for this job.
