Well it is official...the former Weyerhaeuser woods line to green mountain mill has been torn up from green mountain mill to nearly mile post 20, soon to be mile post 18 just shy of the land fill and Rock spur
I was just up there to get some photo's of the line before it was torn up, and this is what I found...

pic 1..Green mountain yard
pic 2...501 pass, just outside of green mountain mill
pic3...toutle river bridge
pic 4...camp 1

I will post more pics in next post

Here are a couple more shots that I took...the line from Camp 1 is pretty hard to follow...logging roads are about the only way, and most of those are gated and locked...so you need to hike in to most of the line...

pic 1...looking west from camp 1 up hill towards Headquarters
pic 2...21 mile crossing near 400 pass
pic 3 nice trackage near 21 mile...
pic 4...mp 20.50

It is such a shame that Patriot is doing this... And I thought Patriot was going to be a good thing for the line, not now!!! I'm beginning to think that they Weyerhaeuser management just didn't want to run the railroad and just wanted out from under it..

well they say that progress is good....I don't see this as progress...
Well at least the track will still be in use from Longview to The Headquarters landfill...
The Simpson timber company did the same thing a few years back...now there is only aboyt 9 miles of track left on the Simpson....so...I guess that 18 miles of track is better than nothing...

Does anyone have a map of the line that depicts the locations mentioned in this thread? Or can someone mark it on a Google map? Much appreciated.
