Hey folks, I’m new here but already I am impressed with the quality of this forum and the info contained here. Back in 1913 a Raquette Lake Railway train crashed into a fallen tree and rolled off the tracks down an embankment and ended on or adjacent to my property. I did a brief search of one small section of land (maybe 20’ x 20’) and as luck would have it, unearthed several heavy pieces, all of solid brass.
My big question is: do these pieces belong to train cars or a locomotive, or are they just off some old icebox? The hinges are offset for depth so the door would be the kind that overlaps the frame, not flush with the frame.
Any help would certainly be appreciated.
