Hi there - I am a rail fan from the United Kingdom and have a general interest in most things to do with trains from early history to present day, principally UK and North America but also take an interest in other parts of the world. I have made a few visits to Western USA when I have been able to save up enough for a vacation there. This has to be combined with a family holiday.

I enjoy photographing, modeling and researching railways.

Hi - Thanks for the offer of help. The RH&DR is a good 6 hours drive from where I live, but a nearer 15" gauge line for me is the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway (AKA La'al Ratty). See http://www.ravenglass-railway.co.uk/

Another interesting 15" gauge loco is "Orion". I have an interesting idea for a thread on that one, once I dig up my photos.
