I an interesting sighting this morning. I had two (ex UP) MNA, with two UP, and both of the Branson Scenic Railway in tow, along with a manifest train. It was heading up (westbound) the Sedalia Sub. The BRSX where not under power, and not sure even if the UP where [under power] as it was a short train and would have been way over powered. Have no idea where they are gong, but I guess they could either be heading to be shopped, or to Mid America Car for a paint job. I can say this that covered wagon looks puny compared to a modern EVO or AC4400CW....
It might look puny, but I'll take the sound of a covered wagon any day. Too bad they weren't running.
Found the answer -- from Trains Magazine news feed. The BSRX locomotives where damaged in the tornado that hit Branson in January of last year. They are to be shopped and repainted, and head back in early March.
