Greetings,

I am doing a little geneaology research and may be doing some traveling in the midwest to some of the following places and was wondering if any of the towns listed below might also have signs of railroads either past or present. Railroads are a good heritage link for geneaology research. If you personally know of any, please leave a comment...

Nebraska- (eastern Nebraska)- Freemont, Omaha, Manley, Hebron, Grand Island, Guide Rock, Red Cloud, Innavale
Kansas- (east central) Ottawa, (west central) Tribune
Missouri- (north western and north centrall), Rockport, Tarkio, Westboro, Maryville, Ravenwood, Trimble, Dayton, Smithville
Iowa- (western) Alta, Onawa, Earlham, Dexter, Greenfield, Hamburg, Harrison

Thank you

Nebraska
Fremont, largely unchanged in the last 30 years. UP took over the CNW in and east of town. FEVR took over the CNW from west end to Hooper. CNW lines to Superior and Lincoln removed late 20th century.
Omaha, UP and BNSF main lines still present as in MP from the south, now owned by UP. CNW, CMStP&O, CGW, MP lines in the city are gone. Some right of way still exists but it hard to see
Hebron no railroads left but some ROW showing from CRI&P
Manley has EX-MP line Weeping Water to Louisville now UP
Iowa
Onawa still has CNW owned by UP
Earlham/Dexter has Ex-RI owned by IAIS
Hamburg has only BNSF Napier sub
