How would you arrange a) the trip?... , b) convenient schedule/timing ?... , and c) look for savings/discounts by planning ahead or off season or off peak travel ?... We leave by rail from Boston trying to figure out how to work out a plan of the trip for friends leaving from New York City and meet on the train at Albany. We continue to Buffalo. After visiting friends in Buffalo we go to Toronto. Afterword we travel together back to Albany then to Boston and New York City respectively.

If it was me, I would get into the car drive to the 7-11 get some Pepsi and Cheetos and start driving. But that's just me.
