Hello was wondering what this bell was,its 12 volt and says wrrs .thanks david
WRRS stands for "Western Railroad Signal", the manufacturer. But I don't know any more than that.
Strange indeed. I have been collecting my whole life and have never seen a bell like this. I don't believe it came from a locomotive as it would have been operated by air or steam. It probably came from a crossing signal possibly a wig wag?
bell
thanks for looking .i can not find anything even close to it on the net
A lot of REALLY early crossings used only a bell on a post next to the crossing to alert the public of an approaching train. There may have been a sign there to tell what the bell warning was for. That is probably one of the early crossing bells.
