Friday morning I was darn lucky seeing 2 Ohio Locomotive Rail Cranes on the siding and the crew finishing putting the train together. I had just enough time to gas up and get drinks because this was going to be a long chase! With nothing coming on CSX they quickly got their track warrant and a green signal from the CSX Cincinnati dispatcher. Too bad the DT&I diamond is so close or else that would have been location 2. This time the sun was at a better angle for an eastbound past the P&G. Also note that the subcontractor is switching in the plant. I like Lafayette but people park their cars too close to the tracks so not my favorite shot. Next spot I chase was a rural crossing west of Ada where I could shoot both locos and both cranes without obstructions in my way.

Last time and the only other time I chase a train to Ada, I was unaware of the station and Caboose. This time I was prepared! Then off to the RT81 crossing where I got my favorite shot of the day, train on the right, Ada in view to the left and mean clouds on the horizon. Also met CF&E East out there. Between Lima and Ada it is all ribbon rail with a 10 mph restriction. Thankfully once they hit jointed rail east of 81 they got it up to 25! Although Dola is a speck on the map and the mill is not rail served I still like it as a backdrop.

With the train moving faster I was unable to set up 2 cameras in Dunkirk. Still I'm happy to say my chase included a tower. I've only been to Forest once before so I had to choose locations quick. I'm happy with the going away shot but wish the old warehouse wasn't surrounded by a parking lot. Also I pulled a Alfred Hitchcock here lol.

My last location was Upper Sandusky. They stopped west of town to work the Crop Production Services (?) plant, setting out several CYSX hoppers. I was hopping a CSX train would come floating through also but not this time. I'm really pleased with the track structure here. It was made for filming! Looking down jointed rail and the line curves to the south slightly right before the diamond. Although they did not work the elevator east of the diamond there was several recently placed hoppers there so definitely an active customer. There is still 50ish boxcars stored west of town. Also can anyone tell me how long since the glass business has been a shipper?
