Just want to thank all the hard work for Gorgerail 2012. Thanks to Pmpete,Alligatorfan,NPdad, Steve Eshom,Charles Boneville, Rail Geek, Dale Skyllingstad and all who attended and presented.

Thanks Steve and all for the great production. The slide shows this year were awesome. Looking forward to next year.

In addition to great presentations, a great venue, and some very nice pre- and post-show socializing, we also scored some pretty good railfanning over the weekend despite some ugly cloud cover. Luckily Friday and Saturday mornings were clear and sunny.

Saturday morning before the show we got up early and headed to Maryhill for a couple of hours. We broke camp quickly and headed right to Maryhill. With the help of ATCS Monitor, I was able to make coffee and cook breakfast at the back of the truck between trains without worry of a train popping out around the corner!

In exactly a two hours we nailed four trains, three of them eastbounds right into the beautiful morning sun.

(1) 6:48am, eastbound auto rack train with a UP SD70M trailing

(2) 7:45am, a westbound intermodal

(3) 8:12am, an eastbound intermodal

(4) 8:38am, another eastbound intermodal

Then it was off to the show!
