Gilman is an ideal place for railfanning. Home to an Amtrak station, there is 4-6 Amtraks a day. Along with a CN train every hour, there is quite a bit of switching that occurs. (Most of it in town, which makes the locals mad when they have to wait an hour because the fines issued by the town don't make them blink an eye.) There is also an interchange here with the TPW line, which has very little traffic now. (1-2 trains a week?)
I know that Gilman has some railfans, so its not a ghost town like St. Joe is for railfanning.
