I thought the Governments had ''more pressing'' issues on their hands to deal with, such as JOBS, The Economy, Sovereign debts, health care accessibility and affordablity, terrorism ( we're still spooked big time here....)...

I suppose spending a lot of intellectual energy and substantial creativity on this pending bill is way more important....

Agreed. Both parties have equal numbers of village idiots who have come up with really stupid legislation; that is one of the far too numerous reasons why this country is in FUBAR mode today. No single political party's members are solely responsible for that mess or crap like this, and no political party is any less likely to have politicians who are going to come up with stupid ideas like this; being born and raised in California has taught me that lesson very well...

LOL! Politicians are made, not born; after all, it takes some intelligence to get into politics. It's not until after they get into the game that the brain cells die off (probably from sitting through dozens of increasingly boring meetings; lack of brain activity is supposed to be one of the main causes of Alzheimer's Disease, after all...).
