Can't say much for signalman, but just try to relax, be honest, hopefully you are motivated (sounds like it), eager to learn, good with instructions, and tell them what little knowlegde you may have and that when something is out of your knowledge, you are capable of asking someone who knows.

You didn't say where or which railroad, but I'm assuming it's a class 1. Check out http://www.yardlimits.com/forums/ and read through the topics or do a search about new hires and interviews. I know the BNSF forum has quite a few questions that are posted by people in your position, and there are a lot of helpful replies.

Solicited advice.

1) NEVER, never con your interviewer.

2) Be upbeat, positive, enthusiastic.

3) Take the time to come up with short stories in YOU solved problems, got things done right and in a hurry. Railroads prize these characteristics in their employees.

4) Have a few well thought out questions to ask about company and job. Shows you're interested in both.

5) Good luck. Know we're rooting for you. And let us know how things turn out.
