Hello all,

I friend of mine told me about this forum and I thought I might join. Like other Irish Railways photo sites (Rail Scene Ireland & the Wanderer's Rail Photos), I maintain a Flickr stream of mostly Irish Railways photographs, with a selection of European photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/finnyus/

On the Cork/Dublin and Belfast/Dublin InterCity services, all loco push/pull passenger services are in the hands of the GM 201 class locos. Freight is shared among the GM 071 and 201 class. All other passenger services (local and InterCity) are DMU operated.

On Sunday last (19 Aug 2012), a GM hauled the return leg of an excursion train back to Dublin Connolly from Kilkenny. The outward leg was hauled by steam loco 461, but due to difficulties with the coal the entire train (steam loco + rolling stock) was hauled back by 082:

Kind regards,
Finbarr.
