Today I saw an ex-NdeM E60C on the TIBR at Silsbee, TX en-route to an unknown destination that came out of the TXU Martin Lake, TX power generating station. It was moving as TOBX 33011. There were number boards inside the unit numbered 3311.

Anyone know where it is waybilled to? The electronic waybill information did not show adequate info.

Thanks,

Nice catch Mark! I wish I had been old enough to photograph these when New Jersey Transit as well as Amtrak used to run them.

Thanks Tommy. I was just informed that it is en-route to Thoreau, NM.
Sounds like it's going to the Escalante-Western Railway, which serves the power plant complex east of Thoreau. That won't be the final destination, though, as the E-W is an all-diesel operation; it'll probably be loaded onto a special flatbed trailer for shipment to either the Navajo Mine Railway or the Black Mesa & Lake Powell Railroad, which have been buying ex-NdeM E60C-2s to augment their own units (ex-Amtrak E60CPs on the former, and E60Cs on the latter).

Very cool! Does anyone know where this was in storage?

Just for perspective, here's a shot at the Washington Terminal Ivey City service facility in 1975 of an E60C, E8 ( ex UP I think ) and the rear end of an SD40F. Ah, those were the days!!:D
