From the article it sounds like UP didn't give the city (and potential preservationists) any advance notice of their intentions. They just filed for the demolition permit, then went to work tearing everything down. Not very good community relations.

It looks like one of the depots was former San Diego & Arizona Railway. A really interesting building too, with arched Spanish-style windows and a collonade around the front. Darn, that's a loss.
