Here's some of my shots thus far.

First up is a shot from Anderson Island featuring the whole train and non-steaming volcano.

Thursday night featured a night photo session at Tacoma Rail. Here's our host, Bob, spotting the 4449 with the rods just right.

Here's some of the particpants. Sure must be something special off to the left to turn their back on Daylight.

The 4449 is joined by the pair of locomotives that pulled the Mt Rainier excursion.

An angle I had all to myself. The little switcher appears to be trying to impress everyone with it's "steam" plume.

Here's some more photos from the last two days

Backing in to the Amtrak lead in Tacoma, Saturday morning. The move from the Muni Yard required a seesaw move. Shortly the train will be headed north for the Stampede sub.

original.jpg

After catching the train in Tacoma, I headed for Palmer Junction. No one else would be there right? Just as I figured me and about 20 other photographers and later a couple of BNSF Police Officers rounded out the photo gallery.

I waited around until the train returned from Easton and caught it crossing the Green River from the road bridge. Sure wish someone would trim the trees!

original.jpg

It turned out there was plenty of time to reach my next location, right about MP 26 between Auburn and Sumner.

original.jpg

Back in Tacoma the seesaw move is under away again. With railfans on the bridges and the ground, the BNSF Police are on the scene.

original.jpg

With the day about done, the train is backing up the hill and over the Pulallup river to the Muni yard.

Sunday morning's departure for Portland was just about as advertised. Here's the train after just passing under the Tacoma Narrows bridges. The lighting is not all the great for a southbound on a sunny June morning.

original.jpg

A fitting farewell, for me anway. I'm sure there are lots of images from points south.

GREAT shots, Steve!
One thing's for sure, they'll be talking about this week for a long time to come!
