Conrail test and interview: please advise

Hey guys: got my chance to get hired on to railroad after leaving CP (DM&E). Conrail in Detroit has a posting for Railroad Carperson. which I would think is a Carmen? but any ways what is involved in the testing for this position?? any info at all about Conrail would be great thanks.

I think that would be a littler hard as Conrail was dissolved many years into CSX and Norfolk Southern.......

Not hard at all, part of Conrail Shared Assets unit which serves the Philadelphia/NY/NJ Metro areas as well as the Detroit Metro area. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conrail_Shared_Assets_Operations

They might want to know if you've done any welding or have diesel mechanic experience. Might want to know if you have a CDL(commercial drivers license). I did 32 years with the SCL and
then CSX but not in the car shops.
