Hey guys: got my chance to get hired on to railroad after leaving CP (DM&E). Conrail in Detroit has a posting for Railroad Carperson. which I would think is a Carmen? but any ways what is involved in the testing for this position?? any info at all about Conrail would be great thanks.

I think that would be a littler hard as Conrail was dissolved many years into CSX and Norfolk Southern.......

They might want to know if you've done any welding or have diesel mechanic experience. Might want to know if you have a CDL(commercial drivers license). I did 32 years with the SCL and
then CSX but not in the car shops. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to - An online railroad bookstore featuring a curated selection of new and used railroad books.
