I recently came across a blue engine with the words CIT on it #133. It was on a BNSF line in MN. Is this a lease? Or another railroad that's class II or III? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

From http://www.pwrr.org/rrm/ :
CITX +THE CIT GROUP/CAPITAL FINANCE, INC.
CREX +CITICORP RAILMARK, INC.
From a layman’s view, both likely fall under the Citicorp corporate umbrella. My supposition only, your results may vary.
