I was on South Padre Island a few weeks ago and happened to drive by the B&RGV next to the Port of Brownsville. Saw a shiny SD40-2 (SD40-3?) at their engine terminal but nothing was moving. Unfortunately, I did not get any pix.
Anybody have any info on this line - engine roster, traffic? From Google maps and another thread here, it looks like they interchange with UP at Olmitos Yard and handle a lot of petro products.
Thanks!
They're real and true interchange partner is KCSM (former TFM) via the international bridge into Mexico. They've had a love-hate relationship with UP since the famous UP melt-down in the late 1990s. I don't know much on their ops as I don't see much going on when I go to Brownsville and I rarely go down there.
