That could be expensive to repair. Since, if that's the old bridge at Gibbon, repairs will be necessary; that's the only connection to the outside world (BNSF) for Central Washington RR line to Sunnyside and Granger. And yes, they do move a lot of cars everyday. Hope Brig Temple has insurance!
I thought so, this trestle just didn't seem like the CWRR bridge at Gibbon. In the lower valley, UP stuck to north side of Yakima River. Really no idea where this burning trestle was, but it isn't crossing the Yakima that I know of. Maybe somewhere in the Palouse wheat country, since there's a lot of fires over there, and lots of rail lines, both abandoned and in use. Or even somewhere in Oregon?
Gibbon approach trestle? BNSF will soon have a surplus through truss bridge on the Columbia River. Can a barge get from the Columbia River to the Yakima River bridge site? Would new supports to use an old bridge be economical?
