I guess it does snow in Texas after all! After 2 days of freezing sleet in various locations in Texas. It snowed over night resulting in a Texas Snow Day. I took the following photos today of Blacklands Railroad locomotive number 201 at Greenville, Texas. Enjoy!
Mark, I have icicles that are a max of 3" long and a light glazing of ice was reported on many of the bridges and overpasses down here in the early morning hours of today. I'm glad we didn't get anymore than we did.
Nice snow shots Mark! While it's not the strangest to see snow falling in parts of Texas, it certainly is quite a sight to see that much accumulation on the ground.
I'm glad I missed all of that (being down in Slidell for a few days). Not only do you have an ex-ICG hopper, you also have an ex-IC (or ICG) engine pulling it.
It has been very cold here in north Texas this week, nice shots. I saw a couple trains that fell victim to plugged air horn chimes the past few days, didn't sound too good.
