The Blacklands Railroad was named 2011 Shortline Railroad of the year by Railway Age magazine. President and Owner Wayne Defebaugh definitely deserves recognition for growing the business, when the Blacklands Railroad started operations the annual car count was 250 carloads now the annual carloads total over 5,000. Plus the Henderson to Overton Branch was added to the Blacklands Shortline family last summer! I have been with the Blacklands Railroad for almost 1 year now and I can say Wayne is a Great person to work for. He will also jump right in to lend a hand with the work. Plus he is always looking for new customers instead of turning business away like the big railroads do at times. Two new transload customers just came on board this week to add to the success of the Blacklands hard work. Thanks all who have posted for your comments.
