Hey all,
I had the wonderful chance to spend some time in the Seattle area in the mid 90s. I fell in love with the Seattle and Ballard areas. I know the rail line through Ballard today is used by the Ballard Terminal railroad. I would really love to find out more about its past, I have started working on plans for a switching layout loosely based on the North Seattle area. I want to try and model the steel mill that was in that area, but I cant find any information on it. I had the chance to walk the property a few times before it was torn down, unfortunately I didn't get any pictures. I am stuck trying to rely on memory alone .If anyone has any pictures or knowledge they would like to share of any of the industries or locomotives in that area, I would really appreciate it. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to - An online railroad bookstore featuring a curated selection of new and used railroad books.
