Jeff,
I try and stay away from the triple digits these days. It was hot for San Diego yesterday, but it was in the 80's. Yeah, we are a bunch of whiners out here on the coast. They were talking about record breaking heat of 134 or above in Death Valley. 134 is the world record and they think it may get above that today. I'm going to stay away from that.
Well Eric I made it out today, although the photos I took were nothing worth posting.
Nope. It was 102 at my house, so I hid in my air conditioned home office and messed around with Photoshop on some of my older files. It's not supposed to break for a few more days either. Ugh.
I spent the day getting my swamp cooler running again. When it gets too hot to railfan, and I have the time, I head up the Feather River Canyon. Always a little cooler in Portola.
So let's see, Friday last week it was 116' on my back yard weather station, then Saturday it was 119' and Sunday down to 117', I'm not going ANYWHERE out in this heat... As the tag line says, "Hot Rail" and I mean it!!!

I railfan from the comfort of home during triple digit heat
Scott, I think you have us all beat!
I agree with the humidity comment. I did a little today not quite triple digits and not quite by choice. I had to replace an oil pan on the local shortline's backhoe. Only about 20 feet from some switching. Like I said though not quite triple digits but at one point I had to stand up to get my jeans out of the direct sun because they were burning my legs. It was worth it though.
