I was driving behind an Amazon trailer recently and noticed that the reporting mark was "AZNG". This seems strange to me since I believed all trailers had reporting marks that ended in the letter "Z". As for Amazon's containers, it appears they use "AZNU". This reporting mark ends in "U" like other containers.

Does anyone have insight into why the Amazon trailer's reporting marks do not end in "Z"? Can anyone think of another example of reporting marks on trailers not ending in Z?

It's the same reason CSX reporting marks have a "T" at the end. It conflicts with what type of reporting mark it is, so a different one is used.
