Hey all.
I've been doing migratory work now for about 5 years and I've been moving around the country illegally via freight trains. I've seen some beautiful country and I've been able to admire the railroad system all throughout my travels. The more I learn about the railroad, the desire to get off the back of the train and up to the front, legally, really appeals to me.
I understand that trespassing, especially in my case, is looked down upon.
I've looked into a few schools that will certify you as a conductor. I have the money and the means to attend one of these programs.
I'm wondering: is it common to meet other people coming from the same background as a train rider? is that something that i can use to my advantage or should i keep it to myself?
I'm sure there are lots of people, better qualified than myself, coming to this site with similar questions on how to get into a career with the railroad so i apologize if I'm beating a dead horse here.
