Abandoned track?

Friday I drove north on US 24 in Colorado.
It parallels a track which appears abandoned.

Is that a former Rio Grande track?
Will they ever reopen that track?
Is thathe Tennessee Pass route? (A runaway occurred on Tennessee Pass to an engineer in training. Both he and engineer were killed.)

It is UP's (former D&RG I believe) Tennessee Pass. There are lots of other threads containing more information.

Have they severed thatrack here in east Eagle-Vail?
Or, are they redoing the right-of-way?

In downtown Buena Vista, the grade crossingates have been broken out and powerlines to the crossing signals have been cut out.
