A rainy Friday at Simpson

The guys had a rough morning which started with the newly rebuilt 1201 developing a debilitating electrical short right out of the barn at the diamond. It took a while to get it moved out of the way and back to the roundhouse. The 900's out of service, waiting on a governor so they took the 1202 out and put onto the lumber train. The 1202 doesn't have dynamics, so after they got to mill 5 dispatcher left with the 1200 to assist the fully loaded return trip. It was around 11:30 AM when they got back to Mill 3 a little over two hours behind. I had hoped to hop a log train today, but it wouldn't have been until three or so for another departure. Weather was crappy anyway. So after I snapped a few frames from the DS shack I decided to leave instead.

Thanks for the comps, guys. Low hanging fruit, as they say. Hopefully they'll resolve the mechanical issues over the weekend with the 1201. They're still waiting for waterwood from Canada to come in, so this coming week will most likely see a focus on track maintenance.

I was over there about 4:30, watched Simpson put one away and the PSAP crew get ready to head south.
