I got a tip through Facebook of the #7 Empire Builder using a BNSF locomotive on the point. As I checked in with its progress across the states I was delighted to see it fall farther and farther behind. Finally by the time it reached Idaho it was running 8+ hours late which meant I could actually get some photos. Here a few I was able to get as it passed through Spokane, WA this morning.
1) Running at track speed near Hauser Yard in Idaho.
2) Stopped at the station in Spokane. Unfortunately an eastbound coal train was stopped on the mainline blocking the view. The other Amtrak engine is the power for the #27.
3) Westbound Builder leaves Spokane with BNSF 7317 in the lead.
4) Final shot of the power as it rounds the curve at the west end of the Latah Creek bridge in Spokane, WA.
