On Friday August 23rd, I had to drive through GI on my way back to college. I happened to stumble across some headlights in the distance as I crossed the Nebraska Central on Capital Ave. So I ran to Abbott Rd. and found the Ord job waiting for clearance into Grand Island from UP or waiting to do some switching at what looks like a fuel terminal or something that is near the airport. Next as I crossed over the UP on Shady Bend Rd. I saw a train lead by SD40N 1643, GP38-2 519, and SD40N 1577. I think this was the Columbus turn but I'm not for sure. Just when I thought I had seen it all when I crossed the BNSF on Shady Bend Rd. I happened to catch a glimpse of a pair of geeps sitting near Swift. I wasn't able to get real close and didn't want to take any chances since I had already been starred at like I was a terrorist twice by railroad employees.

Excellent shots! My folks live in Columbus now so maybe I'll catch the job on its trip up to and back from Norfolk. Best of luck to you in school!

Nice catch on those UP SD40N locomotives. The only two I have ever seen have been out that way. I always like seeing the NEC too!

Thank you everybody! I haven't been as active since I've been back at school so it may take me a while to reply but I appreciate the comments.
